What is the Importance of a Water Tank?

Water tanks are liquid storage containers. These tanks are usually stored for drinking water for humans, for domestic water, for drinking water for animals, for use as drip water for agricultural areas. Since the water tank is an important need, it has been stored in ancient civilizations in a way suitable for that age. Various materials are used to produce water tanks. Recycled plastic, polyethylene, polypropylene, fiberglass, concrete, modular (ready-made electrogalvanized, hot dip galvanized, 304 quality chrome steel, composite, GRP also known as SMC or GRP tank) The installation of water tanks is influenced by the construction application parameters, the type of material used and the design of the tank.

  1. Deciding where the water tank will be located (underground or above ground)
  2. The ground where the water tank will be placed (soil, concrete, platform, roof)
  3. Material to be placed in the tank (water, chemical, acid, fertilizer)
  4. Temperature of the material to be placed in the warehouse
  5. Tank height and pressure
  6. Modular or monoblock water tank
  7. Resistance of the water tank against rain, hail, snow, high wind events
  8. UV resistance of the water tank (resistance to sunlight)

Throughout history, materials such as wood, ceramic, stone and reinforced concrete have been used as water tanks. It served people for many years. However, with the developing technologies, storage systems are taking their place every day. A good water tank should not cause any harm to water and should not interact with water. Factors such as algae bacteria, viruses, pH, accumulation of heavy metals are important.
