They are products made of polyethylene raw materials used for the purpose of separating the parts from the surface by throwing the incoming rainwater with the force created by hitting the filter body walls with the force created by the force created by hitting the filter body walls in order to filter the water before the rainwater enters the water tank. This rainwater filter system, which is also referred to as leaf catcher in some places, prevents unwanted materials, sediment, birds and insects from entering the system.
Working Principle of Vortex Filter
The filter has two outlets. When the water, whose flow rate increases in places with heavy rainfall, meets the filter system; the first outlet prevents the accumulation of solid residues such as sediment in the rainwater and at the same time protects the plumbing systems by passing half of the water to the water tank without clogging, while the other outlet protects the plumbing systems by transferring the excess dirty water to the sewage system. As the velocity of the water entering the system increases, the efficiency of the vortex rainwater filter increases in direct proportion. Filter systems in rainwater tanks are adversely affected by external pollutants. In case of heavy rainwater entering the system, it will be more efficient to connect the product to the horizontal drainage line. Filters are not compatible to work with this system because they give a reverse resistance response to the pressure generated in siphonic system installations.
Features of the Vortex Filter
Provides many years of use. Resistant to ultraviolet rays (UV) for above ground use. Rain water should be selected according to the size of the water tank to be collected and the inlet connection ports, above ground or underground use and drainage type (vertical or horizontal line elevation suitability). It has a polyethylene screw cap. 304 quality chrome steel washable internal filter. Suitable for above ground and underground use. Thanks to its riser and composite cover, it provides the possibility of underground use (suitable for pedestrian, vehicle and construction equipment traffic according to the relevant product).
How to Choose a Vortex Filter?
It is decided whether the filter will be underground compatible or compatible with the surface water tank. If it is to be used above ground, the choice of whether the drainage is vertical or horizontal or suitable for both vertical and horizontal lines is made.
If the Vortex Filter is to be used above ground, there are 3 types. These are
1.Vertical Drainage Line Compatible Vortex Above Ground Filtration Systems
It is a self-cleaning system that is compatible with the installation inside the ventilation in the above ground or building terrace / ground floors with a maximum roof area of 1500 m2 and an average rainfall of up to 75 kg / m2. This system, which is highly efficient thanks to its 304 quality 38 mesh steel filter, has a robust body made of HDPE raw material and can be used for many years without maintenance. In rainwater systems with 150 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 11 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 5-7 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 300 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 12.5 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 8-12 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 600 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 16 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 15-25 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 1500 m2 roof area, water tank inlet connection diameter is 20 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 35-45 liters per second at most.
2.Vortex Above Ground Filtration Systems Compatible with Horizontal Drainage Line
These are washable systems that are horizontally compatible with low-quota products used up to 1500 m2 of roof area, which retain and filter up to 95% of the suspended leaves, sediment and particles coming with rainwater. It works smoothly in systems where the rainwater inlet of the tank and the water outlet from the tank are connected at the same level. It is a system that passes through 3 different filters: a polyethylene synthetic woven type filter that holds and filters particles larger than 5 microns, a 304 quality chrome steel filter that holds and filters solid particles larger than 1 mm, and a polyethylene basket type filter that holds and filters solid particles larger than 2 mm. In rainwater systems with 200 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 11 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 3-5 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 500 m2 roof area, water tank inlet connection diameter is 16 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 11-14 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 700 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 16 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 14-16 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 1500 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 20 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 20-30 liters per second at most.
3.Above Ground Vortex Filtration Systems Compatible with Vertical and Horizontal Drainage Line
In rainwater systems with 200 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 11 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is at most 3-5 liters per second. In rainwater systems with 500 m2 roof area, water tank inlet connection diameter is 16 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 11-14 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 1000 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 20 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof into the water storage system is 20-30 liters per second at most. In rainwater systems with 3000 m2 roof area, the water tank inlet connection diameter is 25 cm. The flow rate of rainwater coming from the roof to the water storage system is 70-90 liters per second at most.
