Water Tank Obligation in Houses

As stated in Article 36 of the planned areas zoning regulation, the use of a water tank is mandatory. Article 36 is as follows. (1) It is obligatory to have a water tank with a volume determined by the criteria such as the intended use of the building, daily water requirement, selected fire extinguishing system and national and international standards and provided that the necessary drainage and insulation measures are taken, not less than a) 30 in very high buildings, b) 15 in public buildings and high-rise buildings, c) 3 in residential buildings up to 10 independent sections, d) 5 in other buildings, as specified in this Regulation. (2) In residential buildings, the volume of the water tank shall be increased by 0.50 for each additional independent section after 10 independent sections.(3) In all buildings, in cases where gravity flow is not possible due to the floor where the water tank is located, it is obligatory to install a hydrophore. (4) Water tanks and hydrophore can be arranged in the basement or attic of the building by taking the necessary drainage and insulation measures, as well as buried in the ground in the front, side and back gardens outside the building area, provided that they meet the same conditions. (5) Water tanks are made of reinforced concrete, stainless steel or similar material suitable for sanitary conditions, independent of the carrier system.
