The coconut is an unusual plant that grows in tropical countries. The appearance of a coconut tree is very elegant with its long, thin leaves and for many of us it is a symbol of vacation, sun, white beaches and blue sea in summer. The best way to grow a coconut tree is to buy a pre-germinated coconut from a garden center. Plant the coconut with the small seedling in soil. This is a special soil that can be found in garden or DIY stores and is ideal for this plant. Planted in a bright place, watered regularly and cared for carefully, the germinated coconut can grow into a wonderful tree. Another method is to take the coconut and remove the outer parts. Pour hot water over the peeled fruit and cover half of the coconut with water. Put the coconut in a warm place and leave it there, always in the heat. With a little luck the plant will germinate in about two months. Then it can be planted in the ground. Only the bottom half of the walnut should go into the soil. This soil should be Kokohum soil. Again planted in a bright place, watered regularly and cared for carefully, the germinated coconut can grow into a wonderful tree. The coconut tree requires warm air in all seasons. Even in winter, both temperature and humidity must be very high. If you spray water on both sides of the leaves, the humidity of the room will increase. From May to September, the tree should be watered abundantly – but the plant should not be waterlogged. After October, the amount of water can be reduced. From spring onwards, the coconut needs to be fertilized with liquid fertilizer. If you want your coconut to live for many years, repot it every two years. When repotting, make sure that half of the coconut comes out of the soil so that there is enough space for the roots in the pot. Coconuts grown indoors reach a height of about 1.5 meters.
