HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)
Water Tankare water storage tanks made of high density polyethylene. Tanks produced with this raw material have very good chemical resistance and impact resistance. HDPE water tanks are widely used from domestic water needs to large-scale industrial applications. These tanks are also an ideal option for safe water storage thanks to their durability, light weight and non-toxic properties.
Advantages of HDPE Water Tanks
-
- Durable: Resistance to extreme temperatures thanks to UV additive. Strong HDPE raw material and reinforced body provides resistance against physical impacts. Thanks to these features, it is suitable for indoor as well as outdoor use conditions.
- Chemical Resistance: HDPE tanks are resistant to many chemicals. This ensures that the liquid stored in the tank does not interact with the tank and extends its service life without damaging the tank. It provides a great advantage especially in industrial uses where chemical exposure may occur.
- Drinking Water: HDPE is a raw material used in food grade. HDPE water tanks are also a solution for storing drinking water by dissolving with water and ensuring that the stored water remains safe for human health as it does not mix with harmful chemicals.
- Lightweight: Compared to storage methods such as steel or concrete, HDPE tanks are very lightweight, making them easy and cost-effective to transport and install at the installation site.
- Care: HDPE tanks have no maintenance costs over long periods of time as there are no problems such as rusting, corrosion or calcification.
- Cost: Known for offering high durability and performance, polyethylene HDPE water tanks are more affordable than metal or fiberglass (GRP) tanks.
Usage Areas of HDPE Water Tanks
- Domestic Water Storage: Widely used in household drinking water storage, rainwater collection and garden irrigation systems. It is also preferred in underground storages with additional increases thanks to its impact resistance.
- Agriculture and Livestock: Used for irrigation, water storage and preparation of fertilizer mixtures in agricultural areas. Thanks to their chemical resistance, they are also safe in the storage of pesticides. It is used to meet water needs in fattening farms.
- Industrial Applications: Used in the industrial sector for storing water, chemicals and other liquids. They are resistant to corrosion and chemical degradation, thus sustaining storage under harsh conditions.
- Commercial Buildings: Used for general water storage needs in commercial areas such as office buildings, shopping centers and hotels.
- Emergency Action Planning: HDPE tanks are frequently used for water storage and water distribution organizations in disaster areas. Thanks to their light weight advantage, they can be easily transported to remote areas and provide practicality in emergency installations.
HDPE Water Tank Capacities and Prices
HDPE water tanks are produced in different sizes and capacities according to the needs of the users. It is used for chemical storage by thickening when necessary. In addition, manufacturing is made in accordance with the desired dimensions. Such non-standard tanks directly affect the price.
Prices may vary depending on factors such as the originality of the raw material used, the price of the raw material, the daily currency equivalent of the raw material in Turkish Lira, the kilogram and thickness of the tank, UV additive and labor.
What to Consider When Choosing HDPE Water Tank
- Capacity: When determining the appropriate capacity for your storage needs, attention should be paid to the accuracy of the tank dimensions. While a few hundred liters is enough for residences, large farms and industrial plants may need thousands of liters.
- Intended Use: It is important whether the tank will be used for domestic water, drinking water, irrigation or chemical storage.
- UV Resistance: In case of outdoor use, an HDPE additive is added to the raw material to protect against UV rays. This UV additive allows the water tank to be used for a long time due to the sun’s rays.
- Floor: Make sure that the location of the tank is greater than the area occupied by the tank. HDPE tanks are produced both horizontally and vertically and the choice of the location of the tank should be determined as underground or above ground. For long-term use of HDPE tanks, the bottom floor should be level and flat concrete.
- Warehouse Connections: It should be checked whether there are necessary connections such as inlet and outlet connection dimensions of the water tank, cap size. Whether the tank outlet coupling is polyethylene, polypropylene, brass, chrome is a factor that directly affects the cost. The bottom of the tank outlet connection should be supported. In addition, flex (flexible) connection equipment should be used between the outlet tong and the water connection.
- Brand: A well-known brand that manufactures warehouses with quality raw materials, in the right volume and with the right kilograms, has a high level of communication, and has a history of honest trade should be selected.
