During photosynthesis, chlorophyll absorbs light energy of all colors except green, and green light is reflected back from the algae. This process allows algae to produce food and oxygen. For photosynthesis to take place, carbon dioxide, water and light energy must be present together. When these conditions are met, algae begin to grow. Especially in stagnant water tanks where there is no water circulation, algae growth occurs when exposed to sunlight and increases over time. (Note: Do not carry your water tank full.) <\/li>\n<li><strong>Caustic Use:<\/strong> Chemicals such as bleach kill microorganisms. You can prevent algae by using caustic, but be careful when using it for drinking water. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Chlorine Use:<\/strong> Chlorine is an effective substance used to control water safety. It is important to adjust the amount of use according to the size of the water tank. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Cleaning<\/strong> Wash the inside of the tank thoroughly with dishwashing detergent and cif with a brush and plenty of water.
