ECB MEMBRANE

ECB MEMBRANE

ECB stands for 'Ethylene Copolymer Bitumen', it is a raw material in the form of granules obtained by the thermoplastic mixture of ethylene copolymers and bitumen.

What Is ECB Membrane?

ECB Geomembrane is a synthetic waterproofing blanket produced from ECB granules. The production of ECB Geomembrane is extremely simple. The ECB granule is passed through the extrusion line directly without any additives. ECB Geomembrane is generally 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 mm thick and 1.05, 1.50 and 2,10 m x 20 m roll sizes. In the production of ECB Geomembrane, reinforcement is not required due to the high mechanical performance of the material. However, in the types of materials to be left bare on the roofs, reinforcement is used to prevent the material from corrugating and to maintain dimensional stability. The reinforcement used is also glass fiber. Since glass fiber is also a flexible reinforcement, it does not affect the values of the elongation and tear elongation of the material, it harmonizes with the material and can extend together.

Any layer of concrete, screed, heat insulation plate, etc. which will be laminated to the ECB Geomembrane surface, during the production, the signal layer is laminated. The signal layer is in silver gray color and it is thin enough to be easily removed when there is any damage to the surface of the material that may occur in field conditions.

ECB Geomembrane application is very simple. Generally, it is applied by automatic welding machine with free spreading and overlapping method. In this application methodology, the sources are tested with pressure, a visual test is made on the signal layer and the application is delivered.

In cases where it will be left bare on the roof, it is applied by free spreading, mechanical fixing and overlapping method. In this application methodology, the sources are subjected to mechanical test or spark test.

Advantages of ECB Geomembrane

-Applied in one layer

-Environmentally friendly (PVC, plasticizer and chlorine free, no toxic gases); Meets LEED Criteria

-Tearing,puncture,shrinkage resistance

-Maintains dimensional stability in temperature changes, has standard UV resistance

-Resistant to plant and tree roots

-Labor risks are minimized because they are applied with automatic welding machines

-It is highly resistant to sparks and flame-proof

-It is resistant to sea water

-Combined with double row welding and welds are tested with compressed air(except for bare-roof applications with mechanical fixings)

-Thanks to the signal layer on it, it provides visual testing against puncture and damage (except for the 30 series with glass fiber reinforcement in the middle)

-Can be applied in all weather conditions

-The old applied ECB membrane and the new ECB membrane can be welded together homogeneously even after many years

-Highly resistant to solar radiation, UV rays and ozone

-Compatible with polystyrene, polyurethane and bitumen, can be applied directly on old bituminous coatings

-It is hardwearing, it does not lose its properties during the economic life of the building.
